You may retake the test to obtain a passing score.
After successfully passing the test, you will be notified of available orientation dates.
Safe Gun Handling and Shooting Test (Full Member Only)
The Safe Gun Handling and Shooting Test occurs at the new member orientation.
The test will consist of shooting 10 rounds, with at least one reload, at a full size IDPA target at 50 feet.
All 10 rounds must hit within the scoring area of the target.
Ammo used must be appropriate for the indoor range.
You may use rimfire or pistol caliber rifle, but all 10 rounds must hit the "zero" area of the IDPA target (8"circle in middle of target).
You have 3 attempts. No laser sights allowed.
If a full membership applicant fails the safe gun handling test for safety reasons, a firearm safety course must be completed prior to retaking the shooting qualification.
Archery only members do not take the shooting qualification.
