Pistol League

Welcome to the Pioneer Sportsmen Pistol League page. We have an active group of pistol shooters who practice and shoot in competition on a year round basis.

Bullseye Pistol

Wed. nights 6:00 - 9:00 (approx.)

  2008 Information

      October through March - State pistol league 20 weeks of 22 cal. gallery pistol matches (2 each week) fired on our indoor heated 50’ range.

       March through May - 900 point matches (1 each week) fired on indoor range.

      May through August - 600 point 2 gun matches 1st A 22 cal rimfire national match course followed by a center fire match, fired on our outdoor 50 yd. range.

       Yearly schedule of NRA sanctioned matches currently consists of 2 indoor 1800 (rimfire only) matches and 3 outdoor 1800 (rimfire and center fire) matches. These are NRA approved matches, with scores being sent in to the NRA to count toward classification.  See calendar for scheduled dates.

      Bullseye pistol consists of shooting one handed at paper targets, at either 50 feet or 50 yards / 25 yards depending upon whether indoors or out. The basic course of fire is to shoot 10 shots in 10 minutes at a slow fire target. The next stage is 5 shots in 20 seconds on a timed/rapid target. (This is done twice for a total of 10 shots on the target). The third stage is to do the same thing as the timed fire match, only it’s 5 shots in 10 seconds. This makes up one complete match, known as either a gallery match if shot indoors, or a National Match Course if fired outdoors. During the summer months we shoot one Rimfire National Match Course followed by a Centerfire National Match Course to make up a 600 point 2 gun match.

 Air Pistol

We have a small but steady group of air pistol shooters who meet during the winter months. Scheduled match (very informal) is the 1st Sat. of the month, December through May, at 9:00 AM.
